Otherwise I'm a ...... don't know if I should share this, might give some of you the wrong impression.....

I'm a communications officer for the plod. Hours suck, money isn't bad & it's a secure govo job.

That's alright, 8 hr shifts aren't they? I used to do QAS comm's - 000 calls and dispatching. glad to escape the room!

12 hour shifts, wouldn't do it with 8's, would have to work twice (almost) as many days if they were 8. lol

Yeah some interesting calls at times, used to be called offensive names by pissed idiots & aboriginals. Lol3

ah 12hrs. Yeah I do 12hrs +++

Used to do 12hr days and 14hr nights in comm's till they changed the roster & said nobody works more than 12.

On road its a laugh, 12 hrs..... have gone for up to 16hrs on trot, & without meals.... long days those.

Estimating Manager for an Engineering consultancy. Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Just started with this crowd last Jan. That's why I left Melb & moved back to Brissy.
It's all good so far. Very employee orientated company. Very flexible company too. Suits me right now.

I'm planning to stay with this lot a while. They are an international company with offices all over the place. The good part is that they don't believe in people being "based" in a specific office. If I wanted to I could move to France & do my same job out of the Paris office.

I work in Telecommunications within an operations centre. I work 8 hour shifts including weekends. Hate it but it pays really well and allows a certain lifestyle.

What do I want to do?

Work my backside off for the next 10 years, pay off our house. Move out to the country where have can buy a nice block of land. Wife can work as a teacher and I can semi retire by the age of 50.
