Re: Another cheesecake item - GDYUP - 22-05-2005

12000 klms out a set of cush drives is a bit ordinary Rev. Spose you can get that with a 43 tooth sprocket and snapping the throttle open through the Reefton "ONCE" too often...

The rear caliper on the 02 I've got has always been shitty. Just as well I hardly use it...

Now to find out the problem over 8500 revs??? :">

Re: Another cheesecake item - BUSGO - 22-05-2005

GDYUP,
Over 8500 revs the fuel tank is too small.

Re: Another cheesecake item - GDYUP - 23-05-2005

Huh?

8500 revs and above it's running outa puff at the moment???

f****d if I can figure it out???

Cleaned the fuel filter, replaced the plugs, dropped in some spitfire, kicked it 5 times, said a prayer at Revs sermon, looks like back to the drawing board.

Time for the experts to have a crack at it me thinks???:">

Re: GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...................... - Djpete - 24-05-2005

Good luck Gdy.
Is it misfiring or just not going over that rev range.
if there's no misfiring or breaking down I would say fuel problem, but u have already looked at the fuel filter.
Fuel pump?? Cheers,
Pete

Re: Dull up top - BUSGO - 26-05-2005

I am certainly no expert on busa tuning.
Does she run out of puff in all gears or only the top couple?
Could be blockage in the airway or partially crudded injectors.
If she screams in the lower gears but not in the top couple then it points to something dragging her back.
I've heard of this happening to high performance cars that use Optimax fuel exclusively. If you do, you could try BP Ultimate or Vortex Gold for a change and see if it clears.
I rarely get above 8500 in any gear except 1st to 3rd anyway.

Pinched fuel line ? Moisture in the tank ? Regards.... Rob (Astro)

Cheese - GDYUP - 27-05-2005

Only use BP premium???

Gunna pull a few things apart tomorrow and check a few other things.

I pulls hard in all gears to 8500 then it seams to lean out... Could just be the map??? (So the fastest I've been lately is around 250 give or take! )
I'll be thrown out of the Hard Core Busa non riding club and be riding with the local Ulysses group if it continues. (Or I could just buy a viffer )

I'll post the problem when I top out at over 300 once more.................

Re: Cheese - simmo - 27-05-2005

Re: Fuel PUMP? - BUSGO - 29-05-2005

GDYUP. I don't want to alarm you and this is only a guess but it could be the fuel pump not being able to keep the pressure up. Make sure there is a clear vent in your tank or it will be creating a vacuum.

Re: Fuel PUMP? - GDYUP - 30-05-2005

I've had the fuel pump out and cleaned the fuel strainer.

A clear vent? Huh? Do you mean the line that dribbles fuel onto the road after fill up on hot days? (We had 2 hot days in Vic this Summer)

Anything is worth a try, thanks.

Cheers, Phil. (Still faster than a viffer)
