Motorcycle Safety in Qld - Pira1298 - 19-07-2008

If you live in Qld and have a motorbike license, then you probably received a glossy flyer from Qld Transport about riding motorbikes. Apparently, due to a clerical glitch, the wrong flyer was sent out. The correct flyer is at the following link.

My dad got one of those flyers in the mail and i think it absolutely sucks that queensland transport assumes that all motorcyclists arte death waiting to happen. My dad rides a 1972 BSA single cylinder 500 classic and only rides it on club rides.

Missy...

Is your bike registered in YOUR name? It appears that they based the mailout on registrations, not licenses. My brother has a fairly large bike shop in FNQ... Apparently he got stacks of these brochures because of all his bike regos. Bad enough that they waste money on this tripe, but they could not even organise to de-duplicate the mailout.

RE: Motorcycle Safety in Qld - Norvin - 28-08-2008

Yea I got one too- luckily I ride the bike mostly because if you look at the statistics quoted only 1 in five motorists die on a bike? the two cars we have must be 4 times more dangerous and they did'nt even send me a warning letter- assoles.
regards Norvin.
