Maj at speed week - BLACKZOOK - 08-09-2008

One of our own Maj recently purchased a Suzuki 750 from ebay in America, he flew to the states with a turbo kit that he made himself in his suitcase and spent a week putting the bike together over there.

Rumor has it that he smashed the 750 record on the salt at speed week on his sight unseen ebay/home built turbo mix.

I hear he ran 215mph and backed up with 220mph. Does anyone have any further information, the speed week site has not posted final results yet.

A f*&^ing amazing achievement worthy of making a movie about.

I wonder if Maj was originally from InvercargillPi_tongue

Good on you mate someone who has lived their dreams.

Hey all
Have to be brief ,
Still in Cal, checking the bike over for the next meet on the 14th
Had a few gremlins but worked it out to run 210mph and backed it up with a 220mph for a 215 record in the modified partial streamliner 750 blown gas class then put my mate Jim on the bike (as we invaded his home and workshop for a week to build the bike) his first pass on a turbo 4 cyl was 210... (he holds a record for a blown buell and has run 19x before)
Then ran a 214 and backed it up with a 219 for a 217 record in a different class (blown fuel )

Actually my area is called Invergordon..

Met some very interesting peope here too..

meeting was saddened by the death of one rider when his streamliner crashed while setting a world record

Turbo in a suitcase, that is a good story.

Now I can rave to the rello's over there about another awsome aussie!!! heh heh heh.

He's still getting over his sisters latest purchase, but that's just me :-)

RE: Maj at speed week - Maj - 09-09-2008

Appreciate the thoughts and comments
mainly over here to have fun, the records are icing on an already very nice cake

RE: Maj at speed week - Maj - 09-09-2008

Someone else you should watch out for is Richard Assen
Melbourne based Kiwi running a turbo busa here last week and again at World Of Speed from the 17-20 sept
Richard ran 250mph and was only just short of John Noonans 251 that took out fairinged top speed at the BUBs event
Expect to see higher speeds at WOS

RE: Maj at speed week - AntsBuza - 09-09-2008
