Complete set of fairings for Gen 1 Busa - pan - 08-01-2009

There was a bloke in Australia selling these. Does anyone remember who/where? Has anyone tried them?

if you mean the plastic ones then my mate has them but for his cbr and there ok......... some drilling was required as holes didnt line up and also they feel very thin and soft. they need at least a good coat of clear on them as the paint is prone to scratching easily. other than that they are ok for the price. can find them online direct or there on ebay

Have you seen the one's advertized on ebay. They are from China about $600 for a complete set of fairings including all the inserts, & $400 for posting. ABS plastic ,saw a set that had been put on a GSX thou. I'd be be happy with them, but i don't know if there show bike material.

Agreed. A mate of mine bought a set of the ABS plastic "West" fairings for his CBR1000 from China. They looked good from a distance for the price, but on closer inspection, they are far from perfect. He had to spend and extra 5 hours drilling holes and filing down nubs so that they fit and there were some ugly gaps. If you can, wait the extra 6 months and save to buy originals.

Thanks fellas.

No, not the Chinese ones. I remember there was a guy in Australia doing a different lot of fairings...

Hi Pan,

If you dont want the fairings for A1 presentation (Ive got a set of road fairings which I rattle can paint) you may be better to get a complete set of 2nd hand. Try Metro Motorcycle Spares 90 Silverwater Rd, Silverwater. 02 9748 7400. They have lots of Gen 1 fairings for you to make a complete set.

If you want A1 presentation the extra cost of painting will probably make the Chinese the cheaper option.

Cheers

Steven

That's a good idea! I might give them a call and see if they have a good right hand fairing. Might be cheaper than a re-spray. I hadn't thought of that as an option!

Options:

* maybe to help out a friend
* maybe a custom paint job
* maybe to hang up in my garage and admire...

Confused

Heidi, I've got an old RHS fairing in 99 red/black. Some scratches though, but let me know if you need it. Generally you won't find a mint fairing at wreckers. Even if they're mint when they go in, they are stored and squashed, so they look pretty messed up...

Maybe we could distract Bruce and take one off his turbo Busa, though then you'd have "Bang Bus" on the side of yours... Confused

PS: I accidentally hit "new thread" rather than "reply", so just ignore the other thread. I went in but it wouldn't let me delete. Heidi, use your Admin/Jedi powers and delete it if you can...
