New Dyno in town - Maj - 16-02-2009

Fatman
Had a rush of blood the other day and brought (in shares with a mate) a mobile dyno,
So hopefully it can help make preperation on my racebikes a little easier and maybe even help pay for itself with dyno days at the local shops or events.Biker

Currently has 4 channel data, looking to expand that
[Image: dyno003.jpg]
Its a home build , built by a very dedicated fellow http://wotid.com/dyno/ , heavier drum and bearings than a DJ200 but otherwise similar in design.
looking at putting a 8 channel data system on it so i can look at things like intake temps and duty cycle along with the std rpm, wheelspeed,(from which the hp and torque are calculated)manifold pressure,a/f,maybe some egt's and other stuff
currently its reading wheelspeed, rpm,a/f and PSIabsolute , still to calibrate the hp and torque figures,
on a gsxr demo'd when i picked it up i figured its reading ~30hp too much for a 03 1k

RE: New Dyno in town - horndog - 16-02-2009

Ahhh, I thought I had seen that one before. I have checked his site many a time whilst researching dynos.

Gotta love the effort he went to when getting the drum madeScary

Congratulations Maj, the neighbours are going to love you doing Home Dynos!!

Are you taking it to April Fools?

RE: New Dyno in town - lee8sec - 30-04-2009

Any more updates on the dyno? Leigh

RE: New Dyno in town - Maj - 01-05-2009

Only that it works fine , i'm limited by traction at about 400hp with the 4 ratcheting tiedowns , looking at improving that.
Currently using my Innovate logger for running data , gives me an easy to see screen with 5 channels of data and i like being able to configure the output of the logs to suit the engine manager i'm using at the time to quickly define the cells to adjust.

No p[lans to take it too the salt Phil, hate to see it rust .
The general idea is to put away the mechanics cap and put on the riders cap during racing ... never quite seems to work that way though...
How far have you progressed with the swingarm ?

RE: New Dyno in town - Haerera - 02-05-2009

ViolinHave machined the ends , just waiting for the welder to come back from hollys and then theball starts rolling , found a powdercoater up here and have done the rims so simply wax on / wash off , will send pics once its done,
Cheers,
Philfy-SA
