CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 30-03-2009

Action-smiley-083

well on weekend went on the russell tucker memorial ride for cystic fibrosis..close too my heart because i have a g/f who has had double lung transplant .thing is the life expectancy is roughly 3 years after the transplant which is wonderful for her because she has a daughter that is 11 and she is a single mum after hubs did the runner a few years back..it was too hard too cope with.she is on year 4 and time is ticking..it gave her extra time for daughter.

i have piccys of run and once i reduce them enough too fit here ill post.

but the eirrie thing is...there was a couple of guys that came off at once on same corner.

the harley that crashed once belonged too the guy who the run was in memorial for.he is even pictured on the t shirts on that bike!

i think there should be some lotto tickets bought.

russell died whislt riding of a heart attack and his motto was 'quality of life"

the pictures i have are of both bikes and how well or unwell they fared.hubs and i helped with riding them too closest mates house too be stored but got pulled up in process and hubs breathalysed.
but all was good the police only doing their jobs and were really good.
last i heard of the worst of the guys that he was in a neck brace in hosp.the other was limping and some skin off.
but all in all great ride...

270 bikes in all..fair turn up

small price too pay since i have seen what friend goes through...nearly once amonth she has too pay the $340 return fare too sydney to get checked out.she often has complications.but she is always happy and loves my dog.thats how we met my silly willy the labby wondered too her place.then a friendship grew

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - Pommie - 30-03-2009

You get to feel very helpless and useless watching them and know you cant do bugger all to help with it other than be there

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 30-03-2009

i admire danielle.she always is saying to me"how you going mate!! hows the fam and hows wilbur'(the labby).

then i say ok girl whats with you and how can i help?

she always says she is fine..

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - Raging - 31-03-2009

So many nasty diseases out there, CF being one of them. Always sad to hear of people that have it, and from people that have lost family and/or close friends to this disease, or any other for that matter.

As Pommie stated, there is nothing worse then being unable to help them in any other way then to be there by their side.

Cheeky, if you want to post pictures up and resize them, try using http://imageshack.us

There you can upload pictures and it changes them to your desired size. Alternatively, try using VSO Image Resizer, which is a free download and very easy to use.

heres mates bike.. i did a small payback too his bike because each time he comes for tea he turns paintings upside down rearranges furniture and general pain...but we adore him he is the best rider i have ever seen and very unassuming

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 31-03-2009

ok this is the start of the 'off' the guys had..heres hubby and you may spot the skid mark too his right just in same line as cruiser.in distance the trees where the 250 ended up

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 31-03-2009

its hard too know how deep of channel the bike went through but from the start of the tar too the fence it would have been 70 meters at a big guess.the fence stopped the bike

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 31-03-2009

the 250 being pushed up channel by hub and good mate phil riding it

RE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS RALLY - cheeky - 31-03-2009

yes loosing close ones is so hard and so many causes out there.niv and i try too donate when we can or help out..
there was one git on this forum that made a comment about childhood cancer.... you dont in anyway make a statement like he did
it cut deeply because i lost my mum 11 years ago on the 18th march to non hogdkins lymphoma ,my grandfather too bowel and myself had a brush with cervical..also the run of the mill skin cancers.
as in disease i found my father two years after mum died on loungeroom floor.he died from heart.
they wereyoung my parents 54 and 62.

i hugged good family friend today at cemetry and visited her daughters grave.she was 6 years and 10 months.luekemia.

my wish is a pipe dream.
a cure..

okies ill stop being glum...more picts too come from rides

raging thanks for the vmo link absoulty awesome
