3-up riding? - Rainbow7 - 31-07-2010

I've just seen a thread on another forum, where the OP is talking about how he wants to modify his Busa for 3-up riding, so he can haul his wife, son & camping equipment.
I've given him my opinion on this. (i.e. "No!")

Has anyone been asked this sort of asinine question, or is it only Americans who are that stupid?

@Pan

Yeah, but he wasn't talking about a side-car, or even stretching and adding another wheel. This guy wants to build up the back of his seat and have three people on a stock Busa.

RE: 3-up riding? - Heidi1 - 31-07-2010

That can't possibly be legal.

RE: 3-up riding? - Timmy_0_T00l - 31-07-2010

there really should be laws against doing that, maybe cruelty to animals or something?

He reckons it is. According to him, under Washington state law it is legal as long as there is a proper seat and footpegs.

I still wouldn't do it.

The weight limit on a bussa is about 200kg isn't it , three people with a little gear would have to be over that .

Easy to do . . . as long as you're in Bali.
We had no trouble.

It would have to be a lot easier on the 'busa.
You'd just have to get it there. Lol3
