is it all in my head - Steve - 24-10-2010 when I bought my bike it already had Helibars on it, coming from a GSX1400 it was still a bit of a lean. I bought a riser block from Soupies in the US and fitted it. The bike seems to be steering a bit slower since I put it on. The riding position is more comfortable with both the Helibars and riser but I reckon its slower in the steering, is it all in my head ![]() RE: is it all in my head - Rainbow7 - 24-10-2010 I have the Soupy's riser and I don't think my steering is any slower. RE: is it all in my head - pan - 24-10-2010 I imagine it WOULD change the handling. If you're sitting more upright, the weight distribution on the bike would be different... You would probably be higher up and further back a little... Otherwise, the bike is the same. RE: is it all in my head - Troppo - 25-10-2010 If you are comfortable, you will go faster... ![]() Any clearance issues with the Helis and the Soupy's block? Are you still running stock lines? Therefore your bike thinks you are riding like an old man. The bike is tricking you into thinking you are riding slowly so you don't do anything else to make it seem slower! ![]() ![]() ![]() It's all in your bikes mind! The only way to fix it is to take the bike out & give it a good old flogging ![]() RE: is it all in my head - pan - 25-10-2010 Or if your bike has serious issues, send it to ... ![]() RE: is it all in my head - Rainbow7 - 25-10-2010 (25-10-2010, 01:33pm)pan Wrote: Or if your bike has serious issues, send it to ... Very droll, Pan... RE: is it all in my head - Madmax - 25-10-2010 Watch that shrink bloke fella, he'll turn your bike RED RE: is it all in my head - Steve - 25-10-2010 might just have to take the block out and see if it does make any difference. I have found myself running a bit wide a couple of times now, it is easy enough to put in if I ever go for a long ride. RE: is it all in my head - Steve - 27-10-2010 well I took the riser block out yesterday while I was fitting the new screen. I took her for a ride this afternoon back up Tamborine Mt via the goat track at Canungra. It is definately quicker in the steering and feels more nimble again. I dont know why it is but it is, the only drawback is the more leant over riding position. I will keep the riser block and if I plan on any long rides I can put it back, only takes about 30 mins. RE: is it all in my head - DAVE01 - 27-10-2010 you're elbows are probably more inline with the bars and likely less weight on you're hands so the steering may feel lighter. RE: is it all in my head - Aussie Steve - 27-10-2010 Send it to me and I will spend several years testing it for you at minimal cost! RE: is it all in my head - Steve - 29-10-2010 I ended up putting it back in, dont like the extra lean without it, I will just have to get used to it not being as sharp in the steering, either that or I could drop the front forks a little, that always works. |
