Dont park her in the sun. - skin - 30-10-2010

Beautiful day yesterday so rode my baby to work,no shade for her until around 2pm no worries, going to the Keysy pub for a couple after work and noticed a mark on the dash just above the gear indicater,on a closer inspection the bloody dash had a small melt mark, it looked like a lighter had been held to it, the only thing i can come up with is that the sun may have reflected of something causing increased heat(any other ideas guys)my mate said not to worry no one will notice BULL#### I do,call me anal but it will be replaced, she is beatiful and will remain so.Has any one else had this sort of thing happen to you.
Cheers.

Yeah, same thing happened to mine....think the double bubble caused it (must magnify the sun from the right angle like a magnifying glass)....I've got two marks on my dash....one either side of the clock display.
I'm the same as you mate, it's not much but my eyes are fixed on it nearly everytime I'm on the bike, so it will be replaced with something more robust in the future.

LMFHO

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I'd be replacing it also.
Wouldn't have thought it could happen just from the sun, especially in 1 small spot. Sounds like a concentration of the energy, much like a magnifying glass. I'd be checking the screen for bubbles or other imperfections.

I live in Sunny and F-ing HOT NQ, so now I know one aftermarket product that wont be going on my Busa.

This was put up years ago. You'll notice lots of people have a little sticker (The club sticker of course) at the front of their screen. It stops this from happenning. Too late for me, I've got three melt marks, one near the clock, and two on the black plastic above. Confused
"Double bubble" is an aftermarket screen with a raised up centre piece. Mines a power bronze product, same result

Thanks for the feedback guys, the screen would have been the last thing I would have thought of,think I will be making a change in that area, anyone in the Melb area know of any wreckers that may have some sad Busa's at hand otherwise i'll just go new.

Vic Wreckers in Heidelberg have a couple of busa's! Cheers

It has been a major problem for Suzuki SVs and some have had their gauges replaced under warranty. Use a tinted screen, a very dark one.

I have a set of gen2 instruments for sale at a reasonable price. Think they have about 25k's on them. Send me a pm if your interested. I'm at Phillip Island till Wednesday so may not reply till then.

If you call me before 6am tomorrow I could even bring em down to the track for you to collect.
