i wouldnt think so, iv had mates do it before, obviously u need to get a roadworthy in your state, but a new bike shouldnt have any dramas passing with flying colours

RE: Buying a bike across the border - Krusty - 05-06-2011

Thanks mate its way cheaper than anything I've found down hear.
It's either that or I fly up there and ride it back to run it which could be an experience.

Ring Tim at Bowral Motorcycles. He is a good mate of mine and is the dealer principle/owner.

Tell him Ryan (from QLD) told you to ring him and he will hook you up with which ever one/colour you want, he'll be able to beat that price I'm sure.

Bowral is about an hour and a bit south of Sydney.

Hi,
I bought mine from QLD because it had only 7000K's and was very cheap and not a mark on it. Got shipped down which cost me $300.00.
Round in NSW got nothing that's cheap.

all you have to do is get a blue slip and green slip (got mine last week from gio which was the cheapest)and go to the rta with all the infomation you have on the bike and I fully insured it before I went to the rta,I did not need a licence plate number, but its up to you.I got mine from vic but handed the plates in at a vic rta but you can do it in nsw if you like. The rta will tell you they may do a random check on the sale but it is all good if the whole deal was legit, enjoy.
