What's the GO? - BUSGO - 03-01-2012
Why do we ask newbies to register in the newbies section BEFORE they advertise a buy or sell on this forum??
It does not matter at all to anyone and seems rude to ridicule a new member for wanting to get their first post up.
Whether its to say hello or to buy or sell, it does not matter, so long as they come and join the forum.
Welcome to all newbies and please yourself whether you introduce yourselves or not. It's up to you whether you post in any section of the site at any time.

Ray we all invest our selves just a little (or a lot ) in this forum its basic manners to introduce your self BASIC MANNERS ray and it shits me when someone joins up just to use the forum for there own gain with none or no impute except to get what they want and the piss off again , so yes MANNERS ray MANNERS count a lot not just here but in life its self
i think personally (as I'm not an admin ) is that when you join the only thread your allowed to post in is the INTRODUCTIONS thread then they have no choice but to be polite and use MANNERS

I think it would make sense to have the 'New members' and 'Site standards and rules' to be at the top of our list when people log in so that would be the first thing they read and not post something in other threads befor they have read all thread titles... It's easy to get exited and post befor you scroll down reading all headings.
Shouldn't new members be at the top of the list?

You're exactly right BIGKEV. Good manners is all I am asking for from the current members who come here day in and day out. The good manners to not criticise a newby for not doing something that to us seems normal, but to a newby seems like a side issue.
As I say, if someone new comes along, the last thing that they want to see on their first post is a rebuttal about introductions - as nice as they are and we all appreciate them.
If someone has something to sell or buy from our forum, they should be quite welcome to offer that benefit to everyone already here enjoying the site.

this is an issue i dont think we will see eye to eye on ray so i will leave it at that as all it will do is become a slanging match , i have my opinions you have your

Hi guys, I have to agree with kev here. It is manners to introduce yourself first, then go to the thread to sell whatever it is they are all excited about selling.
Rod is on the ball by suggesting that we have something in the Registration email advising of some of our protocols. All or most forums have them, so let's make the protocols visible from the start so the newbies care aware of what we would appreciate them doing from the start. (:-))
Thanks for the assist Kev and you Ray for your input. We can certainly turn this to our advantage.

I posted in the Newbie section when I signed up because I saw how some people were spoken to when they posted elsewhere first.. Manners work both ways.
I wasn't aware of the New Member protocol beforehand.
I seem to remember having a PM waiting for me on sign-up? Perhaps this PM could hyperlink new members to the appropriate page to say hello. Not everyone posts elsewhere with deliberate disregard to courtesy.

Hey -M-, we're on it mate. we will fix this up so future newbies are made aware. Just have to find an admin with the skills to make it happen, lots of newbies in this job too at the moment, so please be patient with us while we do some rapid learning.
