Hey Busarat,
I am a big lazy bastard, but out of my usual group, I'm probably the most bike fit.
The others generally ride litre sports bikes and are wanting to pull over every half hour, (this is why we aren't riding over from SA) where as I'm tested to 3 hours without a stop at least.
Still, as you said a km in Tassie is equal to 2 on the big island.
I'll just have to indulge is some liberal amounts of amber anesthetic in the evenings.....or maybe not....lol.

RE: Batty's Tour of Tassie 2016 - 1/02 to 6/02 - Batfink - 13-01-2016

Sorry guys n gals, between the festive time of year, getting over WA, doing the calendar and getting trailer back together and ready for the tour I been kinda swamped.

I will get my ass into gear and start putting up some info tonight.

I will also text everyone I have listed some info.

but for now..............

Me and BEE + my 4x4 and trailer will meet you all as you get off the boat. There you can unload gear, get check off my list and be asked to reset your trip meter to ZERO for map calibration. The first rally point will, however, be at BP Devonport that's about 3.3km from the boat on the way to Burnie (and also on the right way for our first leg of riding).
I have made this the rally point as there is both a servo and Maccas there to refill your bike and belly. You will also be getting your daily map here.

Day 1 is the smallest day, about 280km
I have done this as we will need to work out who rides how as well as introduce you all to Tassie roads LOL
There will be both extra sections for the road rockets and short cuts for those that prefer cruising and photo taking.

Each day is split into 2 legs (morning and afternoon) and the 4x4 with gear will be waiting for you at the end of each leg.

This is intended to be a casual riding experience with minimal rules and a sense of adventure so if you want to go explore something along the way, just go for it, but please either be at the end of leg rally point or call me if you are not going to make it.

As I said, there are minimal rules and the following are those I can think of now....

1. If you are going to do your own thing please tell me so I am not wasting time trying to work out where you are.

2. NEVER OVERTAKE ON THE LEFT!!!!!

This is not a rule but a request..... Keep an eye on your mirrors (SPECIALLY ON DAY 1) and if you see bikes constantly on your ass then pull over and let them pass. There are large section of roads we will be riding where overtaking is not an easy/safe thing and we all ride differently so letting faster riders by will increase your, and their, experience.

More info soon and I will see you all in 20 days (or 479 hours LOL)

RE: Batty's Tour of Tassie 2016 - 1/02 to 6/02 - Batfink - 14-01-2016

Looks like your night sailing will be leaving at 9pm or at worse you will be on a day sail on Monday.

If it is a day sail on Monday then we will just adjust the Monday ride to suit.
