I read in motor magazine the new commodore has whats called fleetwatch.this is a trackable sendor unit that uses gps and mobile phone technology to track the wherabouts of the vehicle at any time by the fleet manager entering a password and logging onto the net.Now it doesn,t take rocket science to figure out that gps tracks road speed which can be mapped against speed zones and you then realise big brother is here. From what i,ve heard in germany the cops use this to book you without any speed cameras in sight based on your illegal road speed in a given speed zone. The irony of all those speeding fines you couldn,t get off in court due to the judge not accepting gps printouts against a speed camera reading, because it wasn't an authorised speed measuring device.Very soon your own cars gps unit will be an authorised speed measuring device.I personally know someone who,s company has released this technology in sydney.Makes you want to buy a pre 71 no seatbelt noisy smoggy guzzler musclecar to spite them.Another example of communism rebadged as globalism. All for road safety of course

Correct Spam, those systems have been around for a few years now, I know a bloke who used to sell them.

His company test fitted one to a council road sweeper for a week. When they downloaded the data & showed it to them, they could see what the driver had been up to, where he went, how fast, how long in one place.

They didn't buy the system as they were afraid of union trouble But, more trucking companies are buying them as we speak
