Annual Hayabusa Convention? - Volvi - 01-03-2004

Copied from club photos thread;

Ya still got 9 in that photo Phil. Nevertheless I do recall in our earlier days when we were able to get some 20 busas on a ride and man was that an intimidating sight for the tin tops. Ahh them were the days. I did try to organise an annual convention like in Jindabyne as the HART do. But as Rod will tell ya about trying to organise a 3 hour tour nevermind a 3 dayer.

But having said that if we really put our minds to it and with some effort by members, we should be able to organise one with participation from other states, imagine 60 - 80 busas now that would be a sight. If only Suzuki would put theyre hand up and volunteer some help or service as Honda might do for HART it would go a long way in making it a major attraction.

So Suzuki reps that might be reading here - how about it? Youve had a faithful Hayabusa following for over 4 years - maybe time to put a few dollars back into the community and show us some recognition. What say you?

I await with baited breath.

PS. I will post this in General thread too.

Re: Annual Hayabusa Convention? - demeester - 02-03-2004

A few hardy riders did make Jindabyne once. Some Vics, some welshmen. I would go again, for sure.

Re: Annual Hayabusa Convention? - GDYUP - 02-03-2004

Also copied from Photo's thread.
An annual Busa convention would be the go. If the Fred Flinstone mob can do it so can we! (As long as it's in Victoria and on my weekend off, and it's not raining, or too cold, or too hot, or too windy, or too sunny, or too overcast then you can count me in!)
Cheers, Phil.
P.S. Would be good to participate in such an event.

Annual Busa convention - Chopper Bob 1 - 02-03-2004

You can count me in to do some organizing in Qld.
I'm not sure how many we would get, hopefully a few more than we get on rides!
The concept is fantastic, let's run with it and see what happens.
If we made it for say Easter '05 (just a suggestion) it would give organizers plenty of time and get people interested.
60 - 80 Busas....yeah I like that!!

Chopper

Re: Annual Busa convention - demeester - 02-03-2004

Too far out. Should be late this year. Some people may not be able to take time off, but we may find a long weekend that covers 3 (4) states. (Some SA members may come across)

Re: Annual Busa convention - simmo - 02-03-2004

Great idea, after last weekends ride i would think we would get a shit load of New South Welshmen/ladys, snowy's sounds great. Regards Robert

Re: Annual Busa convention - Slong - 02-03-2004

yeah cool idea. It'd be worth framing.
I'm up for it.

Haven't been to Jyndabine yet.

Great idea Volvi. I remember seeing a Busa Convention somewhere in Europe, looked like 50 - 100 busas, an awesome sight.

Re: Annual Bus Bash - demeester - 03-03-2004

I don't think SA is the place to have it, as I don't really think too many would come across from WA in any case...
