Vic ride 13th July - Scott W - 26-06-2002

Any ideas?
Richard, looks like I'll be available in the morning after all, contrary to what I told you a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Vic ride 13th July - demeester - 27-06-2002

Excellent. I reckon we should head out of town in your direction for a change. Will have a think back through some previous routings.

Any suggestions from any members?

Re: Vic ride 13th July - money for jam - 27-06-2002

How does a run out to Whittlesea, Kinglake West, Flowerdale then on to Yea grab you??? After a caffe latte, on to Strath Creek and Broadford. Then Pylong, Toobarac, Lancefield and on to Mt Macedon. Just my 2c worth. Any better ideas out there??? I just happen to be off that weekend. (That almost guarantees it will piss down rain.)D">
Ride safe, live long.
Regards Phil.

Re: Vic ride 13th July - Scott W - 28-06-2002

Phil, that suggestion is good, but the group did a couple of rides over that way earlier in the yea

I was thinking maybe meeting in Bacchus Marsh, assess the weather and if good weather, take a nice back route to Colac that I know then down to Lavers Hill then back up the GOR.

If weather not so good, an alternative.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Vic ride 13th July - money for jam - 28-06-2002

That sounds good to me Scott. As you know Bachuss Marsh is good for me. (Just keep me away from Woolpack Road.) I await some feedback on your proposal. I just tire of the GOR. The Filth are just waiting to raise more revenue down there and the EPA are just as bad. I'll be in it of course, but I do get paranoid down that way. Maybe I'll just slow it down a bit???
Keep your powder dry.
Regards Phil.

Re: Vic ride 13th July - AeroCat4 - 28-06-2002

How about up around Castlemaine, Maldon, Lock, and around the back of Kyeton, coming back down the Calder Hwy on the new straight stretch (you can see far for cops if you need to, that's if you want to give it a squirt or pop some high speed wheelis) near the Black Forrest?

Peter

Actually the roads are quite windy/winedy in sections and back country roads, like the April 20th bike ride down South-East. MINT !!

Cheers, Peter

Re: Vic ride 13th July - demeester - 29-06-2002

Sounds just like what I need at the moment!

Aero - maybe you should have said "twisty" to avoid the anomaly on windy...

Re: Vic ride 13th July - AeroCat4 - 29-06-2002

"TWISTY" - that's the word I was looking for!! "SMART THINKING 99"

Re: Vic ride 13th July - money for jam - 01-07-2002

So are we any closer to an organised ride???
I have'nt been down to Lavers Hill way. Looks preety good on the map Scott. So that's two for and how many against???
Let's here from all the Melboune riders. Other States welcome. (But it would be a long ride)
Regards Phil.

Re: Vic ride 13th July - Scott W - 02-07-2002

Can I suggest the following subject to feedback:

Meet at Bacchus Marsh about 10.30 am.
Assess weather conditions. If weather is excellent, do the Lavers Hill, GOR run.
If the weather is a bit sus, I could not recommend doing that route and we could do an alternative route more to the North, perhaps via Creswick and then up to the area suggested around Kyneton, etc.

How does that sound?

Re: Vic ride 13th July - demeester - 02-07-2002

Sounds good. May make an earlier meeting time in Melbourne somewhere. I just came back from 3 days over that way (in the tin-top) and am itching to do some of it on the bus.

Re: Vic ride 13th July - Scott W - 02-07-2002

Any roads in particular?

Got the old gif back I see.
