phillip island accommodation - Fenda - 14-11-2001 A few mates and I are planning to go to the superbikes next year from Sydney. As I havent been before I wondering if any of you experienced Phillip Islanders had suggestions re best accommodation (not camping!) either on the island or nearby (Cowes?). Also should we buy grandstand tickets and if so which one? Suggestions gratefully received...... David supers - jamie - 14-11-2001 when we go down we stay at the bridge motel. They have a large room which can take about 7 people I think. But you might want to book now thats if they still have a room.We always book as we leave so we know we have a room for the next year. The Phone num is 0359567281. Its in newhaven which is just over the bridge on the island and about 10 min from the track.Grandstand seats have never bothered with as we like to sit down on turn 11 on the exit from MG.That puts you right on the fence if you get there early and it closer than the G/stands. Re: supers - demeester - 15-11-2001 As Jamie said, to get a good spot without a grandstand seat, you have to get to the track early, and stake your claim, and protect it. |
