Nearly done my ticket today - Mutha - 09-05-2007

Nearly lost my licence this morning in a school zone on Dandenong rd Pahran.
Pi_freak I was doing 40kms in the school zone and I had passed the 40kms signs. I saw the 70kms sign and started to speed up to 70kms. Then I see a copper just before the 70km sign and he waved me over.Pi_thumbsdown I said to him I started to speed up because I had passed the school zone signs and the school and saw the 70kms sign. He said you were doing 64kms. Blah Blah Blah... I said am I going to loose my licence, he said no you would have if you were going 1km faster...
I said I haven't had a speeding fine in over 4 years, I always make sure I am doing the right speed in school zones. He said you can right a letter to civic compliance and tell them that and they might let you off with a warning or half the fine to $110 and I dermit point. I thought about it later and the TURD could of reduced it himself...Police
I guess it's worth a try, anybody ever had any success with writing to them.
Lucky I have points up my sleeve to loose..Coolsmiley

I'll sing you are song and it won't take long, all coppers are ......Pi_freak

well, I just got done on the Hume Hwy... 138 in a 110 zone... cutting through traffic just a quick squirt up and then back down and BAM... I'm now f**ked! Was on 9 points... and that's 15 and over loss of 3 points. Think once I reach 12 they suspend it for 3 months? :(

I'm not that way inclined Mutha. But i do definately agree with telling a copper to get f****d.

I feel for you. A pig in a suit and he didn't give you any slack. That's BS. Stuff channel ten and thier Big Brother. Down here in VIC we got big brother watching us, photographing us, radar-ing us, laser-ing us.

Sorry for the rant, I'm totally over the whole Speeding fine thing. It's a joke in Victoria, if you ride or drive your sooner or later going to get a ticket.

If it makes you feel any better, i passed an off duty cop this morning who was driving his personal car. I was doing 140 - 150 ish and it felt great!

Be well Mutha remember, it's against the law to say bad things to a cop, but there's nothing wrong with thinking it. Coolsmiley

Remember, Cameras Cut Crashes!!!

I mean, Look at easter just gone.
They did the big Speeding Blitz. Had extra Cameras out, Even Fired up the new speed/time-distance cameras on the Hume Hwy and look at the result.......

oh, that's right. Worst F*cking Easter Road Toll in Years.
Yeah they sure do work.

You could deal with it, if there was actually proof that it made a difference but you only need to cruise into the City on the Western Ring Road or the Westgate Fwy to see how everybody sits on 110-120 and just slow down for the fixed cameras to show how wrong that idea is.

Worst still, the fact that the TMU guys just LUUUUUURVE doing their job. Worse than parking officers in my book and they're lower than a snakes belly.

(assistive/supportive rant completed)

RE: Nearly done my ticket today - mybb - 09-05-2007

if your on 12 points and in Vic you get the double or nothing deal.. i.e. you get the chance to go 12 months without a fine.. if you do, your considered rehabilitated.. i.e you get all your points back and sent on your way.. if you get caught in that 12 month period, you lose it for 6 months.. I did the 12 month thing some years ago now.. was trick but i managed.. the plus side is, you can keep driving and you dont have to tell insurance or anyone else that you have lost your licence.. try getting insurance on a busa if youve lost your licence for speeding.. NOt sure if that option exists in NSW, but it might.. Vic and NSW are pretty close with those things these days

RE: Nearly done my ticket today - kawasuki - 09-05-2007

Same option in NSW, i have just finnished one of the 12 month options.
Instead of all these little spray painters going around f*&^ing up walls, cant we entice them with a little cash to spray every f*&^ing camera they see.
