If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - Achilles - 06-07-2007 Yep, afraid so. Actually, the wife dropped the bike! Stupid ass me left it behind her car, so she moved it out of the way - right out of the way and over on its side. Marvellous. Now I have to decide - do I spend the $500 excess and get hit with an additional $300 for the next premium, or spend $2,500 in repairs. Decisions decisions. And how suss - I only insured it yesterday and it was dropped this afternoon. I am thinking I might be visited by an investigator. Damage - hmmm; Front nose cone Front wheel cover lhs panel rear sub frame cover - small scratch crank case cover under fairing - I think (not sure if that scrath was already in existence) clutch leaver handle bar knob lhs mirror scratching on my new Gianelli pips (only very slight - which I am certain they wont cover because I didn't have them listed! foot peg scratching bolts etc. Does anyone know if insurance covers replace panels or make you repaint them - I'm not keen on the repainting option at all! I think what made it worse, was when I picked it up - the bloody thing was so heavy, it spun an inch or two and I reckon that is where most of the damage occurred. If anyone has any of the above and wants to off load and pick up some extra johnny cash - let me know how much you are chasing and I'll see if that might be a better way to go. The scratching is pretty bad actually! Anyway - welcome to the weekend. OK, I am going to push the fridge, ironing board and washing machine over now. A RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - DjPete - 06-07-2007 bloody hell. my wife wouldn't know what a bike was. bad news mate....damn RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - Macbusa - 06-07-2007 shit mate... thats not good to hear... well if it's small scratches, save your insurance rating and 500bucks excess and get the paint touched up by a professional.. they'll make it like new.. if it's small scratches on panels, insurance will touch up... my girls bike got that on a panel or two that were scratched, they replaced the broken panels.. RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - CapeBusa - 06-07-2007 Still got the wife??? RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - Achilles - 06-07-2007 CapeBusa Wrote:Still got the wife??? lol! Poor thing - she was/is beside herself. My stupid fault, I shouldn't of left the bike behind her car. Anyway, none of the kids were under it, and she is ok, so that is all that matters I guess A RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - xhiler8r - 06-07-2007 damn man thats is bad news to hear but if you go through insurance they usually replace the panels mine rolled of the side stand at 350 ks old it did the left side panel the clutch lever the bar end the mirror and the stator cover and that was $2500 yours sounds like a bit more I would say go through insurance that is what they are there for and when its all done send me all your damaged panel I will pay for the shipping if you give them to me for free lol RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - duc13 - 06-07-2007 Not good to hear mate - hope you didnt ![]() ![]() Insurance will normally just replace the panels , they did with mine and i was told they normally do. RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - NEMESIS - 06-07-2007 Damn right she was beside herself. God damn women. No oggy knobs on your bike? Damn. There no good when riding but good for silly incidents like that, that most of the time, happen to me! Sorry to hear it man.Fark. After an hour polishing the aluminium on the pipe (which won't be covered under insurance because I didn't list them), I have managed to polish out (1200 wet and dry) the scratches. Yipee ![]() Oh yes, and my wife is asleep - now where is that hammer.... ![]() A RE: If you're happy and you know it - drop your bike..... - BUSGO - 07-07-2007 BUGGAR!. Doesn't it shit you when these stupid things happen. I'm betting that your insurance will fix rather than replace the panels if they are only slightly scratched and not broken. My bike got knocked over a couple years ago and it was over $4000 to put back like new. So be prepared mate.
