RE: Cruise control - GiddyUp - 25-04-2008

Great idea for when the pins and needles kicks in........Undecided

The cheapest way it to modify the fast idle (Choke).

I can pull back on the fast idle now and cruise around 120 klm/h.

And the cost. Lunch at my place for Rev! Roll

RE: Cruise control - TheShredder - 25-04-2008

You can have it for free on the 99 to 07 models
just do the fast idle mod
lift the tank bend the flap back on the side of throttle bodies so that
the lever goes all the way forward past the stop .
job done Will allow cruise now up to about 140Ks.

Ok here ya go
This is done with throttle bodies on bike pics are just for show.
No need to remove any cables etc just lift the tank
Use a pair of pointy nosed pliers & just squeeze it together job done.
You could undo the screw but it wont achive the same result.

Warnings 1 watch the position of lever on cold start up now as the rpm will rise higher than normal so adjust the positionm to suit.
2 dont forget you have it on when you try to stop Lol2

Before shot shows flap & its travel

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - BUSGO - 25-04-2008

Now a sticky.

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - Legend - 25-04-2008

Done the same in the truck (wound up the fast idle), seems a bit more dangerous in the truck some how!!!

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - Louwai - 27-04-2008

This is probably a dumb question, but,
What does the "choke" lever do anyway???
Does it just increase the idle speed???
Or does it actually alter the fuel mixture like an ordinary choke???

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - BUSGO - 27-04-2008

On a busa, all it does is pull on the accelerator mechanism.
It is just meant to be an idle adjuster to allow you to warm the bike up properly.

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - Speedzalot - 03-07-2008

After riding up the freeway to Taree and back on the weekend I had to do this mod for the return trip to save my wrist and it was great.

My bike now runs at 110kph, so I can relax a little and not have to worry to much about speeding Pi_thumbsup

RE: Cruise control GEN I bikes - ROD - 06-07-2008

All sounds well for highway but how is it around town with such high revs Confused
