Playing around with my second set of standard cans. Ripped out the three screws in the end and took off the SS cover.
Then drilled about 8 or 9 10mm holes in the steel end plate. Re-assembled and they sound like $2,000 cans!!
Back pressure will be reduced marginally as well.

I only did it for the noise factor. I have a standard set of cans for quiet times. These can do for drags and track days. Mind you, I'd like hard eveidence that $2,500 cans and zorsts actually return HP anyway. In practically every case I've read about, the story goes that the new zorsts only release power after a power commander upgrade and dyno time.
I wonder what a Power Commander and dyno would get you with standard cans?

The standard ECU has a 10% fuelling adjustment buffer & on a street bike with the usual airbox & exhaust mods, this is normally quite adequate & anything more is just overkill & a waste of money
With major mechanical mods together with things normally associated with super bike engines, like big horsepower & big fuel & air flows, the PC is infinitely more adjustable for these conditions & should be used.

What a back fire on over run!
The guys behind could feel it as well as see it!
Not so bad once we were able to use brakes as less time spent on over run. But....back to the drawing board! <i></i>
