want the bike so i'll get it = heart (well, I'm not sure yet as I still have to test ride to be sure which happens wednesday)

can i afford the bike considering all the other money that goes out of the house = head (whether it be by cash or loan doesn't fuss me)

If the head can balance with the heart then I will get it, if it does not then i won't

yes I'm a dreamer (arn't we all at some stage and to some degree) and some time dreams come true. let's see huh

Would you consider buying a Gen 1? There are quite a few out there in excellent condition and you'll get one of them a lot cheaper than a new Gen II. My 2006 had only 7200km on her and I got her for $11,500. Immaculate, too.

Sorry, I nodded off too and missed a bit.

You two, settle down. Remember the rules about a dinner party? No politics, relidion or money discussions. Everyone has different ideas about how to manage finances and as long as it works for you, that is GREAT! Now let's get back to discussing how awesome Dhula's missus is and how exciting it will be for him to own a busa.

Like they say. Grab the 'busa'. I was tossing up between the recently released fully faired Bandit (though Suzuki doesn't want to call it that) and a Triumph Sprint ST when a lack of either prompted me to sit on the second hand K8 Hayabusa, which I had absolutely no interest in, at one of my local bike shops. And since it was a lot more comfortable than I had expected, I took it for a test ride thinking I would find something I didn't like and get the fascination out of my system. That was a Saturday and I was at the bank on Monday even though it was stretching my budget.

The Hayabusa just oozes street cred. It stands out among all the cruisers and other sports bikes that get around. And then it blows them all away at your leisure. The only problem with a Hayabusa is that you might find it hard to make a quick getaway from the shops because of the crowd that often gathers around to go 'ooh & ahh'.

No offense mam, but this is not a dinner party. It's a forum.
More money has been made by Creative Financing than waiting till you have saved up the money. That was and is the main thrust of my contradiction to the idea that "one must not borrow money".
For example, apart from the billions gambled on the stock market on futures and what have you, (on financed money) there is a way, where you can borrow money at the minimum cost and that is to off-set what you have that gains interest of core value against what you pay in interest. However, seeing the subject is now dead I'll leave it there and say not another word on this or related subject.

True, although completely irrelevant, since getting a loan to buy a toy will not make him any money.
