ressac - french, direct translation "undertow". ressac is used instead of the word surf, and hence it combines two of my other passions, surfing and almost all things french (exclusions include their politics and citroen). Vive la France et viva Biarritz (best surf location in France).

Ok ya sucked me in.

Volvi is not a nic and is my real first name. So from where does it come from? So heres the long and the short of it.

Not commonly known is that Wolfgang Armadeus Mozart was known as Volvi by his wife. Its a derivative of Wolfgang - Wolfy - Volvi.

Furthermore, being of the Jewish faith my Hebrew name is Ze'ev, which in Hebrew means, yes you guessed it - Wolf. In Yiddish the name is Velvel. The only other reference to that name that I know of is a Lake in Greece called Lake Volvi.

There you have it.
