am i the unluckiest busa owner?
#1
hello,
well today whilst my bike was parked at work, some dimwit decided to drive into it!!!
It was parked in the furthest car park from the entrace to the shops, second in from a big sign. a position i had considered pretty safe. I had the bike cover on and a busa is not some 250 that can blend in with the surroundings. It is a huge bitch!!
Anyway, get a call from center management saying bike has been hit, the driver is coming over. Well this is the third time a bike of mine has been it whilst at work but at least this driver was the first to stop...
so i have his details for insurance, but i have only had it back since april and now the whole right panel needs to be redone as well as the right can (sorry glen). mirror and bar end on right side needs replacing-at least i didn't have my billets on...
But that makes incident number 5 or so for this busa and 8 overall since i started riding around 2003.

Thinking of selling the jinx for a 2008 model or maybe downsizing temporarily in preparation for a kid...

Least i wasn't on it i guess, and it's only cosmetic....

cheers
Rob

Dang Rob. Nope, I think it would be fair to say that your bike doesn't blend into the background. I'm not happy and it isn't even my bike.

On other news, whats this about a little tot?

Thumbs up to the driver for hanging around though, you don't see that very often.
What is all this baby business mate?

makes us in Vic all the more appreciative we dont park in car parks, anywhere but them but out of the way of cages, alongside buildings and footpaths when not obstructing pedestrians. almost good enough reason to stay in Vic.

What a bummer!Knuppel2

My bike was knocked over a couple of years ago right in front of me.
It is a real shock to see them go down when not being ridden.

I reckon there would be more claims from busas being knocked over than from road accidents if they were all reported.

On the bright side, the Newcastle City Council have decided this week to install about 50 motorcycle only parking spots around the city - All metered spots of course, where they get 5 payments for up to one car space.!!!!

They are also discussing at the moment to allow bikes to park on footpaths where they don't hinder pedestrian traffic.

In Newcastle, the number of bike regos have gone up 45% in 3 years.

might be looking at trying to start a family at the end of the year.
Of all the dings 95% of them have been just bad luck and of those 50% didn't involve me being on it....

So when it's fixed i might consider selling it and just getting a new 08 model. But yeah me and this busa have been together for 2.5 years and of those we have been apart for 1 year or so....
