My wife and I were coming home from Sydney this morning on the F3 freeway in the cage and saw the results of a horrific prang just near the exit of the North bound Caltex servo. There was a highway patrol car and about 8 other passers by already stopped.
It appears that someone exiting the servo didn't merge onto the freeway very well and caused a car in the fast lane to swerve off the road and into the centre island.
The car then spun on the grass and hit an armco rail side on at the end of the railings.
The railing has penetrated the driver's door and gone straight through the car and ripped the entire passenger side of the car off, leaving the car totally impaled on the railing.
God help anyone that was in the car. I have since heard on the radio that the freeway is still blocked about 4 hours since the accident.
