In Qld it has to be visible from another vehicle from the rear (on a bike). So legally, (in Qld) ANY position other than hanging off the bottom of the rego plate is illegal. Or on a car it must be on the lower left cnr of the front windscreen, or on th erear left qtr glass.

apparently its iilegal in NSW.
to be honest the police man that books you would be having a bad day or his periods. i had mine screwd to the bottom of my number plate.and as the ppl on the bathurst run saw it cracked my number plate..the weight and vibration and heheehe speed factor wrecked my number plate.i like dj petes position of his rego lable.but when it comes down to tin tacks is that really leagal? in nsw? moist (yup moist) harley riders have then on the sides of their bikes.i,m not aware if the policey man will accept that either. do someone have some some of legislation? eg..cars it must be clearly defind on left hand side of the car

mine is held on by the retaining nut for the left exhaust can clamp, it sits up almost behind the pillion peg mount which means it isn't "clearly" visible without looking hard. & as long as it's on the bike it shouldn't matter unless mr plod is on his rags. Realisitcly, as long as you have your number plate on, they can use their computer in the car to check your rego is current.

I saw DJ's a couple of years ago at Jindy.
Soon as I got home I moved mine to same - on headstem. Been pulled over a couple of times. They've read the details, one cop actually had to ask where it was because I had the bars turned the wrong way, but never seemed concerned with it. ![]() I don't want a pickle . . .

Tube rego holder on the chain guard mount on the B-King.
Flat anodized one on the Busa's left exhaust can mount. Cheap plastic one below the plate on the GSX11 (to get me out of trouble for having no rear guard) "BigKev" sorry about dragging the thread off topic with the legal issue. Yes, I have one, works fine. I like it.

I put one from AUSFR on the bottom corner of the plate where the plastic on had been and it vibrated off in no time. Goooooooone.
This thread just reminded me to replace it.
