The 3rd Annual Making A difference Ride is on again at the end of september in Perth.
Primarily, funds go to provide facilities and services for the patients at Shenton Park Spinal care/rehab unit - as some of us motorcyclists may require (or have already used) this service one day.

Fund raising goes on throughout the year via movie nights, gp nights, memorabilia auctions and also an annual bikini bike wash.

For all you local riders and also for the interstaters that may want to attend, it has been an enormous success the last 2 years and this year will be no exception.

I ALMOST FORGOT
Last years major raffle prize was a fully bombed, although street legal, autographed Stoner rep CBR1000 (he signed the tank and then it was laquered), this years bike, IMHO, smokes last years....more info to follow.

The Making a Difference ride turned out to be a fantastic day for all. The event was held to raise money for spinal research and ended up raising well over $100,000.00. 2500 bikes turned up on a beautiful clear sunny spring day and assembled in the carpark of Perth Hospital. A couple of dozen VIP's were pillioned at the front of the ride group from the hospital to Scarborough beach where all the activities and show and shine were held. I ended up with the W.A. minister for sport on the back of my bike, any pollie willing to get on the back of a turbo busa has got my vote. We were escorted thru Perth by 20-30 police bikes and cars that blocked all side roads and traffic lights.

Below is a short video of the ride taken by one of the club members in the middle of the pack.

I had no chance against bikes build by custom bike shops to promote their work. Bikes that have never seen the road. None the less a great day with heaps of interest in my bike, I got to answer questions and tell lies about it all day.Party-smiley-018
