Hi, I have an 04 busa with 26,000 km.
I have just started to notice this engine noise recently.
I don't think it has been there before.
When you are low in the revs (from 2,000 up to about 5,000rpm) and in gear moving I am hearing this kind of knocking/cluncking noise.
it only seams to happen when you are accelerating, not so much when you are already up to speed and crusing along.
Is this normal or could I have a problem here.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Probably just a stuffed drive chain dad

Drive train?
I am not sure what this is.
Is this the timing chain? or something else?
Is this normal for a bike with 26,000km used as a daily transport?
Is it hard to fix/replace yourself?
Thanks.

Check your cush drive rubbers...
Grab the rear sprocket & see if you can move it back & forth.
Never ride the A model of anything.

Sounds like your clutch retaining bolts may be loose.
It has happened on a few bikes and even on a near new K8 here in Newcastle.
If the clutch has ever been worked on and locktite wasn't applied when reassebled, they have probably come loose.

Thanks for the info guys.
I only get the noise when the bike is moving in the low rpms.
If you hold the clutch in and rev it a little you don't get the noise.
I will check the clutch retaining bolts, It hasn't had any work on it yet.
Any other ideas on what it might be is appreciated.
Thanks.
sounds like ur chain & sprockets r worn they tend to wear in different places around the chain causing a tight spot rotate wheel & check chain tension in different spots if its tight in some spots & louse in other thats most likely the cause
