02 to 07 ecu 32 bit

Can any of you clever member's give me some advice on the following.

When i bought my 2000 busa from peter stevens it had done 18000 km & had a yoshi 4 into 1 system. It was traded to them by one of their salesmen & had been tuned with a yoshi box. It has now done 30000km & is running slightly rich (poor fuel consumption & shoots flames when backing off downhill ). I don't want to re visit the old pc3 needed or not argument but most dyno guy's in Adelaide can't or won't tune unless pc3 fitted. I did find one that is supposed to be good & can use yoshi box.Lately i read a post on a busa site which said you can fit a 32 bit ecu to 99/00 & 01` busa's without changing wiring loom etc. All you need is the 32 bit ecu & change the rotor (does anyone know what the rotor is?) . You also have to change 2 wire position's on the ecu. Since you can now flash 32 bit ecu's would i be better off getting a 32 bit ecu instead of a power commander? The ecu will allow adjustment of fuel & ignition but the pc only does fuel. There are plenty of 32 bit ecu's available in the us for about 200 bucks aust. Would there be any difference between aust & us ecu's ?

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Greeny.

A marble might fix your problem!

Put it in the 1/2" hose that goes between your air box and pair valve(unit near oil filter) to block it off.

Or 4 tech screws or a set of pair blockoff plates..
if your only wanting to stop the backfire ..
Easy to repin the harness for use on a later ecu, and the ecu is easy to find... but the rotor is a lot more difficult to locate... going to have the same problem finding someone willing or competent in the new reflashing software, i would hope some tuning shops take this on as it allows many tuning features only available on top standalone ecu's.
If you reflash an Aussie ecu with the supplied bin files you convert it to US specs anyway, so the difference in the ecu's doesn't matter, you will be tuning it to your bike..

Thank's for the reply legend. I have done the pair valve but havn't ridden it yet (off the road for a spray job).Maj your right about the magneto rotor (rare as fukin rockinghorse shit) found 2 only on usa ebay $350.00 or $375 aust inc freight. Got one from vic m/c wreckers $250.00. only one they had.lucky to get it because they had just binned a motor.(dosn't happen often ).now i need to get an ecu & interface & an expert.

Hi Greeny, I am chasing an early rotor so let me know if you want to sell your old one. Also I think you need a 32 mm spanner & a 20 mm or 19 mm x 1.5 bolt (not sure exact size) to pop the rotor off. Been meaning to drop into united fasteners at dry creek & grab one of each bolt just to be sure Ghastly

Cheers
Darryl
