this is the exact same problem surfabusa had with his 06 and he had a power commander. as i am not to sure what he did to fix it your best bet is to give him a pm, as far as i know a TRE and a good dyno tune but as i said not 100% sure

Hope its not the dreaded gearbox fault, 2nd gear's a doozie.........

It may be the retard causing it like Bigfoot suggests and the PC may be accentuating it at certain revs.
If you can just pull the PC without losing your maps and ride without it for a test it may be the go. It could also be as simple as a loose wire from the gear position sensor plugs. You could unplug and replug just to be sure.
"If time catches up with you. You're going too slow!"

I hate to say it, but I'd bet it's the 2nd gear problem so many of the 04-07's seem to suffer...

damo Wrote: Hi Damo, could you clarify some things. Does 1st engage smoothly through neutral into a solid lock in 2nd and stay there? If it does, then are you saying thereâ€s a sudden loss of power at 4k-5k which feels like you have run out of petrol. Or do you get 2nd gear and then at 4k-5k does it feel like the gearbox is slipping under power then grabs over 5k and goes back to normal. Just trying to separate a physical from an engine management problem.

hi guys seems to be it was the power comander the previous ower had an odd map loaded in to it which left a dead spot or wrong fuel to air ratio at about 4700rpm after uploading a stock standed map and making a few tweaks at the fuel to air at those rpms the problem seems to have gone its still at little jumpy at low speeds when i have a bit more $ i will have to get a good dyno done but at the moment it is alot easier and smoother to ride.

Though it sound like you got this under wraps, have you tried reseting the PC then reloading the map. Or even disconecting the PC and running without it, dont do this though unless the bike is stock. |
