how hard is it to service a busa 18000km's? anything i need to pay attention to o watch out for? cheers
Dan,
It depends on what has been done before and what model bike you have.
If it is a 99/00 You may need to clean the fuel pump regulator screen.
Also new oil and oil filter, clean the air filter or fit a K&N or BMC if it hasn't already got one, change the plugs and check all the suspension settings to make sure they are equal on both forks. Check tyre pressures.
You should be putting lube on the chain at least every 500 klms and check the tension.
Confirm that you have an oil line to your Cam chain tensioner, and top up or replace the coolant and hydraulic fluids.
It's a bit early to be replacing the fluids unless the bike is two years old though.
That should keep you busy for a few hours.
Test ride around the block and then let it sit for 5 minutes and check the oil level.
Hope I haven't forgotten anything.

Busgo, you forgot polishing!!
Anggita
Sorry Chunky,
Polish as you go but only use polish on the plastics a couple of times a year. All other times just do a karate kid.
Wax on Wax off
Wax on Wax off
Wax on Wax off.

K&N Air filter.... Tight fit, isn't it Dan.
Did you manage to get both the top and bottom sealing rubbers in and all the screws lined up properly?
When I bought mine the screws were slightly out of alignment and i had to ream the holes out to get it fitted.
Another 5 minute job that took an hour.

Congratulations !
On converting a five minute job to a full hour.
I'm going to bet a Third World Nation's GDP that you changed hands several times.
busgo the k&n went straight in and i got the rubber seals lined up prett easily must be a blue silver thing. easier to use, easier to ride, easier to go fast on and looks prettier than red/black ok now i think i wont be coming on any club rides or from the red/black guys. but no seriously now the filter went straight inwas a little bit tight but not overly. the top seal was easy just screw all the screw slightly in and put the foam over the top so you can line the screw holes up.
