No wonder I'm dissatisfied

Still looking for a new car with a good power-to-weight ratio and doesn't break the bank. Threw together a chart with the two cars I'm looking at and my girl's 99' mitsubishi mirage & the busa.

Have a look at why cars bore the living SHIT out of me:

Great chart! Busa satisfies the need for speed & horsepower.

Get a low milage CV8 Monaro, won't break the bank and its a Modern Day Muscle Car to boot. :-)

It's a 4 seater only and is great as an alternative to the Busa when you have more than two friends and want to get out and about.

Quite amusing. I have an 08 busa, and 12 months ago found myself asking the same question and comparing the same cars (not the mirage of course). Ended up buying an 07 WRX earlier this year. Did some minor mods, and it goes ok for a daily driver. Still hard to compare it to the bike though :-)

Get a 4wd, I did and you find they don't compare. Busa is fast and the jeep goes anywhere and get muddy....

Did you get the turbo or the RS? I can afford a 2003 RS with lowish k's but the turbo's I can't get newer than 2001 with similar k's. Got about $13-14000 to play with, maybe $15000-$16000 in a few weeks/months...

See my ad for a 05 Mini Cooper S with the works in the for sales.
145KW at 1100kg. Not too bad and a real hoot. Currently listed at $22k and is like brand new.
Still seats 4 not so large adults but is best with just 2 lol.

I think it's a buyers market for performance cars at the moment. I bought my WRX (the turbo one) back in may for just over $20K with 90K k's on it. They fetch a bit more than the earlier ones, mainly because the 06/07's have a 2.5lt motor (earlier versions are only 2lt). The 01/02 models would be the cheapest because they are the ugliest (commonly referred to as bugeye). If you were prepared to spend about 16-18K you could buy a clean 04/05 with only about 100K k's. Price could go up or down if modified, but getting something with an exhaust and tune done already will save you a couple thou, and it's a mod you would definately want done (plenty of kw's available + exhaust note).

You might want to check out insurance premiums. Insurance for an XR6T is cheaper than a WRX for me, but both have higher premiums than what I pay for my Busa (WTF!).

Good luck...
