I gotta buy a mesh guard for the radiator and some HiFlo oil filters for my Gen II, that sort of stuff. Is there a shop in Briso, SS preferably, where I can grab this sort of gear? Is there a reputable online aussie seller of this gear too? Thanks.

Got a spare NEW K&N oil filter ready to go. Drop over if you want it, just give me a buzz.
Check fleabay and others for a RadGuard. I got mine from a member here, it was Black, and had it powder coated metallic bright silver...... Much cheaper than a new one and perfect condition.

Thanks Alchemist but hang onto it. I found the suspension guy I see can get HiFlo for $15 and the tool for $15. He doesn't favour the K&N style because the moulded nut on them can tear and hence it can leak. I will go with the HoFlow and the tool. Hope you had fun at Willowbank last sat.
Frank.

Frank,Im very surprised with what the mech said to you as I think that could occur if he over tightens the filter when putting it on,any 2-3 year apprentice knows that and if that happened to him then i suggest you dont use this bloke as its obvious that he does not even use his torque wrenches,to say the least, let alone the fact that to take the filter off one has 3 options, one with a socket/spanner,filter cap tool or through the whole in the actual nut, some tend to rubbish what they don't have or cant get.

He wont be doing the job Adam, just supplying the parts, and who knows, he may have a deal with Hiflo and pushes them lol. I doubt it though, he has never pushed an agenda on me before. He was head mechanic at honda springwood for years and then set up his own shop specializing in suspension. You could eat of the floor there, he is that particular.
I put a K&N AIR filter in my last bike and even after applying liberal amounts of the spray on oil I could still see through it? I'm sure it allowed good airflow but I often wondered how it would have faired up a dusty road with a truck in front of me. They are designed for performance those air filters, not for general use on the back roads of Australia. Sometimes we throw out the baby with the bath water hey. :) |
