Advice sought from those that know their paint.
I have 3 sets of Maisto 1:12 scale models all copper silver that are no longer available. Thought of selling them but then had an idea. The copper on the models are not copper its more yellowy and far from whats considered genuine colour. Some parts are plastic and the fuel tank is metal.
I got a small bottle of genuine copper touch up paint that I have had many years already. So I thought how about I paint the yellowy bits in genuine copper paint. I tried a bit on the front fender but it got cloggy and wiped it off. The paint may need to be thinned a bit.
Should I sand them down?
Does it need an undercoat?
Should I thin the copper paint?
What of the decals?
watchareckon?
