Power Commanders
#1
Can anyone extol me with the virtues/pitfalls of having a Power Commander fitted. Am saving for a pipe and thinking of a dyno check and P/C as well. Have been on their web site and read what they are supposed to do. Do they do what they say? I note a comment previously that stated not worth it with minor mods. All info gratefully accepted.

Mark, I understand PC2's here will set you back about $600 and then to have them remapped is another $300--numbers from a PC dealer /dyno centre in Sydney.

Std ECU can be remapped to support approx 200hp with std injectors. There are areas that a Power Commander has over std ECU but I yet to see the cost / benefit standup. Pipes are another story and just about any combination can be catered for with remapping the std ECU--as long as the guy on the dyno knows how to operate it correctly. Most benefits I see are cleaner/ crisper running thru the rev range and a tad up top.

If you are hell bent on a PC2, buy from the states for $250US plus postage , PC3r's and *USB's around US$300
