Fathers day come early!!
I just got a new lens for my Canon 400D camera.
It's a EF 100-400 5.6 IS USM lens

Anyone else into this type of thing?

Gday 2K, ive thought about buying this lens but have had concerns with low light focusing, especially at the long end. would be good to hear your thoughts on this, btw thats a nice pic of cooper :)

There is no substitute for the quality of the piece of glass on the front.

I've had my Canon EOS 300D for 5 years now and taken '000s of photos, as a hobby and professionally. It's only 6.3mp, but with good lenses will blow up to A3 perfectly.

She's just about worn out now and I'm looking at replacing with the 400D (they're now cheaper than I originally paid for mine.

I've often looked at getting that particular lens.

Good stuff...it can get expensive but very satisfying.
