What happened to "What happens on the trip, stays on the trip" ?
Leonard.
This was a different trip, this was when I accidentally ended up at Ayres Rock instead of Broken Hill in March (navigation isn't my strong suit, but I DO have fun).
The funny thing about where I woke up, was the fence. I'd dragged my swag up a big hill and away from the camp at Three Ways, wanting to sleep completely alone in the desert with only the stars for company. I'd had a few bevereages (natch), so when I finally came up against the fence and the gate at the top of the hill, I thought, 'if I go through that gate, I'll be COMPLETELY alone'. Luckily there was that small voice at the back of my mind saying, 'hang on, a gate is usually designed to keep something OUT or something IN'. I decided to stay on the correct side of the fence which was lucky, there was a huge dry quarry on the other side of the fence and I would have been damn hard to find tangled in a double swag at the bottom of it the next morning.
In the middle of the night, I was woken my something crawling up my thigh. I thought about it for a fraction of a second, then reached down, grabbed it and tossed it out. A small price to pay for million star accomodation!
Isn't it worth taking a risk for that?
you can't beat sleeping in a swag under the stars, its like nothing else matters who cares whats on the ground next to you or crawling on you, camping is the best and i can't wait to go for camping trips on the one and only hayabusa!!!!
