Galespeed rear and front wheel bearings

I have felt the wheels tracking a little over the last few days thought I had better have a look at the front wheel bearings, has been a very long time since they were replaced.
Got the back wheel in the air with the paddock strand first and turned the wheel. My God! The rumbling was incredible. Photo shows the balls that literally fell out when I pulled the outer our with my fingers. No wonder she was rumbling a bit. Immediately went to the front and got it in the air. Wheel is knocking back and forwards 10mm at the rim. Lucky I have the stock wheels with good rubber on them. Will have to drop them into CMC in the morning.

Same thing happened to me i discovered mine at about 80,000km"s but i reckon i should have done at 70,000km but they were needed at 75,000 km and they had never been done,i think it hurt the disc"s as well so i put new disc"s on and the other thing is the inside seals on the bearings are not on originally so the grease is always gunna fall out,i left both seals in on the new bearings.

Took the loose wheels to CMC, they fixed them yesterday. $207 for the bearings and labour. good prce or what!

I'll put the wheels back on and go for a little short ride tomorrow and see how it goes. Mind you I do need a new rear tyre. I'll have to get that sorted soonest.

Hate to break your heart Max but i went to the bearing shop and paid $25 for the bearings and put em in myself took about an hour an half wheel off to wheel on.

Couldn't be buggered rooting around trying to get the damned things out mate. easy getting the new ones in, don't have a press otherwise would have given it a go. One day when I get a press maybe!

When we fit tyres to our customer's wheels, our motorcycle dedicated Dynamic Balancer automatically tells us bearing condition.

The Balancer mounts to bearing via cones, then spins the wheel up to 45kph.

The slightest wear will be detected. We find on average 1 out of 20 wheels balanced, the bearings need replacing.

We normally charge around $30 per bearing fitted, except some OEM that only can be supplied by Honda, etc.
