engine will run for a few cycles and will stop dead. After which it will not restart unless the ingition is turned off and then on again.
Checked:
CMP sensor voltage found to be fine
CKP sensor fine
Fuel flow fine
Sparking
Ideas?
Are you sure it's not something simple like the side stand sensor?
I had a problem once where the engine would run for 20 secs or so and then die. This was just after a service and I limped it halfway back to the shop 100metres at a time when the fuel light came on.
Seems some bright spark had switched fuel lines and it was sucking air from the tank. After it stopped the pump would fill up via gravity, getting just enough fuel to start and motor off before dying.
Last one . . . promise.
Having clogged fuel filters the bike will suddenly die for what seems to be no reason at all, even at speed on the freeway. The bike will often not restart until I physically turn off and on the ignition and press the starter button. This is while still free wheeling at 70-80kmph. I don't understand this but just pullin' the clutch in and releasing it (clutch start) doesn't work.
I thought it may be a computer reset thing???
Hope you get to the bottom of it.
cheers,
