Good Night, Great to see so many people turning up and having a go.
Now I also have to say a big congrats to all the winners of prizes.
One of our members took out the poor bastards award donated by us at Azzopardi Racing, I will let him tell you all about it.
Looking forward to seeing more of you guys turn up for the December one.
Cheers Dee
<i></i>
since nick already mentioned cars, did anyone see the photo of quicksilver in the current fast fours mag? [<i></i>
Great time Pan!! Well done mate. Good on you Dee and Len for upping the ante and providing an incentive.
Nick its all about getting started and trying within your limits. First time out launch like a fast street start and after that talk to those who know Dee, Pan, Leonard and Simmo about how to go faster.
Start off slow and work up and you will get hooked.
Wish I was there to helpwith numbers. Bruce

Hey Nick
I can give you the advice I was given the first time I raced. I was sitting in the tunnel trying not to throw up, my hands shaking so much I could hardly grab the clutch. A chap was sitting beside me on an R1, and he looked over and said, 'first time huh?'. One might wonder what it was that gave it away, but the HUGE scared eyes were probably enough.
He said 'mate, there is only one thing you need to remember. Go f*&^ing fast THAT way, and if you hit the sandtrap, you've gone too far'.
I've found that a pretty useful rule of thumb ever since.
BUGGER ME Mr Bad Racer! I'm going to be struggling to catch up at this rate! I'll show you my new bling. That will make all the difference! <i></i>
Thanks peoples.
Heidi, it wasn't that special a time. I ran mostly 11's, then a 10.8. We were all spinning in 1st 2nd and 3rd.
The last race was against Leonard and I just tried to keep up with him! Didn't feel fast. Just felt easy! He made me look slow though... he did his usual 9.9 and was disappointed with his run !!!
Anyway... now for some of the stories...
We all met in the car park on our way out after the last race, and as I sat on my bike waiting for my buddy Shane (R1), two couples approached us (in an intoxicated state) .
One lady (and I use the term loosley) came up to me and said, "I have a bet going with my friends that I can convince you to take me for a spin around the car park on the back of your bike because we all think yours is definitely the fastest" (they obviously hadn't been watching the races!!!)
She then went on and offered to go halves with me on the $100 bet.
I politely suggested it was a bad idea as I didn't even have the rear seat on... but Leonard politely (with a very cunning grin on the side of his face) offered his seat (Thanks Leonard.... NOT!). I kept insisting that it was a bad idea, and as I turned forward and reached for my ignition, she... well, um...

...she did a Les and Max!
Yes, she...
The group (4 of them) basically hung around and eventually someone else on a sportsbike took her for a spin...
Ah well, never a dull moment at WSID!
"sometimes crime does pay"<i></i>
I missed all the fun aye pan
I had a very average nite, way to much wheel spin again. My only fast run was the last one with a 10.313 so it is a new PB but only by .001 of a sec
Still I can see the clutch mod was worth it, once I re-learn to luanch I will shave some time off
Will we mention what happened to Simmo?
Arguing with idiots is like wrestling a pig in the mud, you both get dirty but the pig enjoys it!<i></i>
Yes, we can say that Simmo won an award. Isn't that enough. The name of the award (in above post) and lack of congrats on him running good times, should leave them guessing. I think that is much more fun.
Cheers Dee <i></i>
I say dont tell em, if they wont come and play, they shouldnt be hearing the juicy stuff.
Pan, congrats again on the new PB, your bike is lookin the goods with it draging its fairing on the ground.
Speedzalot, nice to meet you mate, and good on ya, even .001 is still a win.
It was a great night out, heaps of bikes, I think we will be getting close to the 50% of competitors soon, and then it is just a matter of time till total domination .
Congratulations to all the prize winners too, its good to see the LAMS bikes out there willing to have a go, and their efforts being rewarded.
See you all again on the 6th of December for the next Bike Night @ WSID. <i></i>
I'm ok just out for a few weeks now, thanks for your help Guys & Gals
Cheers Robert
Aren't all Busas Copper & Plated, the others are just all very poor slow ugly copies !!!!!<i></i>
OK what did he break????
It wasnt PB's by the sound of it!!!
Shayne <i></i>
Glad to hear ya ok simmo, had a great nite out im hooked . And good to meet some more members.
<i></i>
You missed one
The real good news is that no Copper plating was damaged at this event,
(please kids don't try this at home unsupervised)
The other good news is only broke a foot peg a few small scratches near the clutch the frame sliders took all the impact
The bad news collapsed a lung and is leaking, they are going to gafer tape it up next week if it dosen't come good,
Special thanks to Dee for making me report it, (even if She did lead me by the ear) a simple drop can lead to so much pain and trouble
and thanks to all my with the calls you all know who you are
Cheers Robert

Ouch, hope the damage isnt too bad and its all repairable as the bike was looking real nice Rob. You are referring to a bike lung and not your own there!!
I feel your Pain. I dropped my bike on the startline within a month of having it all rebuilt. Lucky for me the Blowoff pipe took it all, apparently I have the worlds widest Oggy!!
For me it was late at night, I was fatigued, I was worried that the Shinko was getting close to death and I would be riding home on a balled tyre.
I started to ease up from a 3rd gear 160kmh burnout when the tyre slowed enough to grip and launch the bike out from under me.
So Moral of my story, engage clutch and not disengage brain!
Lucky for me there were no photographs, definately no autographs, LOL
Speedy recovery Simmo!!
Shayne
