All of a sudden I have this toolbar that has appeared at the top of my screen. The title is "Security Toolbar 7.1", can't seem to be able to get rid of it. Also, I keep getting these pop ups telling me that I have a virus, however, my antivirus can't find it. What can I do, any sugestions?
Cheers,

( Lol3 i was joking mate .. Nutkickyt1 hope no offence was takin.)

Heres a suggestion, go into your 'Start' menu at the bottom and open up your 'Search' program. Type in "Security Toolbar 7.1" into it and tell it to look in all files and folders... if it brings up anything that has that, delete it, then delete it from your 'rubbish bin'

Also, try downloading Ad-aware version7 from download.com
This will also remove anything that is suspicious from your computer, including tracking programs and etc...

This is what i would to see if it removes it, if not, i'd try a few more little things..

Step 1.
I suggest you get a good quality Internet Security package, if you don't already have one.
Something like Trend PcCillan, Symantec, Mcafee or the like and make sure you configure it rather than just accept the default settings out of the box.

Step 2.
If it is a legitimate tool bar, you should be able to use the right mouse button to click on it and turn it off.

Step 3.
Use your Internet Options to disable popups in your browsing settings to stop unwanted popups from happening without permission.

Security Toolbar 7.1 is a spyware toolbar and it comes from a very dangerous trojan, called Trojan.Zlob. Once the Security Toolbar 7.1 installed, you start receiving warning messages claming that your system is infected and recommends buying various type of fake & dangerous antispyware application.

Security Toolbar 7.1 may displays warning messages such as, "Critical System Error", "Your computer is infected", "System Alert", "Security Alert", Trojan-Spy.win32@mx", "Virus Alert", "W32.Myzor.fk@yf" or "Spyware.Cyberlog-X".

Not only this, Security Toolbar 7.1 has ability to hijacked your homepage with any obscure website (such as, asafehomepage.com) and so on. Security Toolbar 7.1 also displays blinking icons on your System Tray (It is near of your system clock at the right side of bottom). These Icon generate a fake balloon warning message to download the rogue applications.

If your computer is infected by Security Toolbar 7.1 and hijacked by the unfamiliar webpage then your computer in trouble because it does transfer back and forth information from the infected computer which makes it a potential for application/data theft.

OK it's identified. The only way to get rid of it since it is probably in the registry by now is to format and make sure antivirus protection is what you install early on when you are setting it up. Get a firewall too.

Download stinger from: vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/stinger.htm

should remove it for you.
Then try a neat little program called F-Disk to completely remove your FARKED NTFS windows partition.
re-partition with 1024mb swap
and the rest of the partition as / (for noobs)

and install Linux and use Firefox and never worry about farking shite windows virus/trojan crap infecting your computer again

OR

do what the other guys sayVery Happy

Oh BTW.

stinger should remove the program and associated files but you should disable system recovery (From memory, right click and select properties on the "C' drive and select/uncheck "system restore" - ask a microsloth guru)

Even crap left in the registry shouldn't cause problems if the .exe had been removed. A simple cleaner (Try Eusing free registry cleaner) should clean the crap out of your registry....
