Fried one (750)while wiring something with the ecu powered, electrical pliers bridged live power to the crank position sender, very light spark type click and i knew i let the smoke out....
4 &1/2 hours later i returned from vic wreckers with another ecu and finished the job... with the battery disconnected...
Symptoms were FI code for crank sensor, otherwise the bike cranked fine and gauges etc were fine..
if you upset the electronics they usually let you know with a code..ie fuel pump circuit would have a code if the relay or ecu circuit was a problem but may not recognise a fuel pump , wiring fault or fuel pressure problem after the relay as the ecu has no reference from this point..
