You do realize of course that you are putting your life on the line for the love of your country!!
Ray,your way of thinking is old school(I fully respect) but in todays world joining the military has nothing to do with honur nor love for your country but more of as he stated "A last resort". Strong militrised countrys seem to use the words "SAVE YOU" "DEMOCRACY" "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION"to snatch and grab natural fuels or military strategic positions under UN guide from weaker/conflicted countrys. As he stated, its the last resort and that to me is a sad state of affairs when compared to the way I and many others tought of why we joined the forces. The good thing for him is that the Aus forces are all dressed up and nowhere to go and his risk factor is low.If he is a bit smarter than the newbys around him he will get out of being a bullshit MP and join the Airforce. He can learn a trade in avaiation or maybe become a pilot if he has the mental marbles. That can induct him to civilian avaition where the money is better and the conditions are right.Waiting for orders from some fat fcuk politician to send you to the drainage hole of the planet so you can bomb the crap out of Ahmed and his cousin Muhammed just because we are not happy with the price of oil they have or because their women cover their faces is just a laugh and disrespectful to all those who laid their life down for the real reasons.I find that the private sector pays more, conditions are better and I cant be court martialed due to the way I engadged the enemy. Some of the available wages are around $1000 US a day and no national force is going to pay that to a gunnery sergant let alone a private.I worked for a private security firm after my daughter died and the only reason i did that is cause I wanted to die....violently if possible. The first 3 weeks on the job me and my team found 4 children shot in the head due to their parents religious beliefs.....no matter what, that is not justifible, you also have to keep in mind that these orders where given by military commanders who alternatively had to be executed by simple soldiers who ultimately have to deal with their demons, nightmares and all sorts of shit.I cried like a little bitch when I was out of my mates sight and I found time to be weak,I realised how lucky my daughter was dying in her sleep and not splatterd across the room like a cheap piniata.I had more reasons to live on that day than any other day in my life when I saw that, unfortuneately I can never wipe those and so many other images from my mind until I stop the intake of oxygen.
RESULT:make sure its what you want to do Ruffy and goodluck with it.
