I have run similar intercoolers on some of my turbo's, you need to seal them so the ram air has to go through the core and this can also isolate them from engine heat soak when stopped like at red lights
also in the city your not going to see much advantage but above 80 kph you do start to see some cooling
mine have always been on gear based boost controlled bikes so your not realy making any inlet temps till your in higher gears at higher boost levels (currently up to 13psi on this system) and higher throttle anyway
