I'm insured with Shannons, and only just renewed my policy. I initially insured my bike with QBE because they matched (and slightly bettered Shannons quote), but when the renewal came in it had gone up hugely. I thought this was a bit rude considering I had not incurred any fines or had any accidents, plus my bike had dropped in value. When I asked them they told me I would need a competitors quote to be able to reduce their premium. I got a quote from Shannons again, and being cheaper than my original QBE premium, I thought F*ck QBE and their price matching bullshit every year.
I switched to Shannons (although I already had 4 cars, plus my house/contents with them), and Shannons even agreed to giving me a protected no claim bonus.
The Shannons renewal just came in recently and it hasn't gone up a cent. I'm a year older and still haven't had any accidents or fines in the last year, but at least my premium didn't get dearer. I don't want to shop around every year for insurance, but I know it probably pays to. I wish the insurance companies would reward customer loyalty and good riding (no fines/accidents).
