I did it soon as I found that thread on the ORG.
Don't care how many people claim common sense, human error is a gaurantee so why take the risk? Do it.
Only real drawbacks are that it's a bigger struggle to lift it off the side, and when refuelling you might get a little less in the tank - don't quote me.
Just do it.
