Well finally made some free time on Friday rang Pete @ faster faster & off I went.
While flashing the ECU Pete checked all settings, naturally, & found the AFR on idle to be the richest he has ever come across. Pete completed the 1st flash ran her up on the dyno & found she was still running rich @ around 180k, the ecu was taken back out adjustments made & refitted. Ran the bike up again & the changes soon proved themself in AFR, HP & FtLB. Had the TRE, pair valve & oxygen sensor turned off while the flash was done.
Pete then ran her up one last time to ensure all settings remained the same. All good, after a coffee & a chat about days gone by (GS & GSX range, katanas, EFI oh the list goes on) off I went to try the new settings. I found @ 1st a perception the bike was sluggish until I looked down @ the speedo & rouded up a few slower cars, impressed. What i have found is there is no lag & she pulls all the way through hence the feeling of sluggish, no snap it on wait for the magic RPM for the motor to show what it has. In short the power curve has been smoothed out with the help off the remap & no TRE.
Now had to wait until morning to try the cold start keeping in mind the idle was way to fat in fuel settings. About 7 degrees this morning, whats cold for QLD, out I went turned on the ignition waited for the fuel pump to load up & fit her in the guts & she started 1st hit :) I have never had this this in winter unless she had been started that day.
I would like to thank Pete for his time listening to me regarding the bikes set up explaining what we could expect from the new set up & how the map should resolve any issues. It was also nice to sit down for a coffe & chat with a guy who is straight up & down & if he dont know he will say so & find out. Cheers Pete
