What was your very 1st bike.

Not my first bike, but in the 70's (!) I was Second Mate on a container ship on a regular run between Oz and Japan. We used to go to this huge suburb of Tokyo called Ueno which was streets and streets of motorcycle dealers where we could buy Honda 750/4 for $500 - $800. We'd bring them back and flog them, double/triple our money. No duty on second hand bikes, only (occasionally) the customs would hit you for duty on tyres and battery! Used to screw Vic plates on them and tear around Japan - but thats another story. I reckon I would have had more than 10 of them, and they were still a little scarce on the roads then. Cops used to stop me a lot just to check it out as they were going to get them. Even had a custom one with a Vic Bogner paint job (black with Velo stripe) cut off cans (hacksaw), bobbed guards (same hacksaw!), 6" rise bars - very cool! (stop laughing, you guys!) Got hit by a car head on in Noosa on one, but young and dumb and just walked away rubbing my arse! Here I am at home (with hair on my head !) taking my girlfriend (now thats a good story!) for a ride one beery saturday - I loved those days! (check out the front number plate - bent for high speed work!). And I still want a 750/4 K2 in my shed!
