You can try your luck through Civic Compliance with their form for having the infringement reviewed, but the cops 99.99% NEVER withdraw an infringement notice.

I got done recently for........a tinted visor!! written up as "failed to wear an approved motorcycle helmet (RR 270)" - 3 demerits and $269.

Was it during the daylight hours or at night? Technically if it was only a visor, I would argue that they give you a wrong infringement. It should not warrant 3 demerit points FFS.

7:09pm daylight savings time. Technically there is no actual law that states absolutely anything about a motorcycle visor. and the fine is excessive! Absolute Robbery!!

All penalty Notices in the State of Victoria HAVE to go thru the Civil Compliance Centre, and considering I have had 4 withdrawn and written letters for more than 6 people that have had them withdrawn, I think you may be wrong.

My intention is not to start any argument here, you are more than welcome in the AHC, I will treat you with the same respect as any other member here, and your profession is irrelevant to me in the AHC.....however in this particular circumstance and thread, having the words "Police Officer" attached your name (or is that "Senior Constable") I find makes your comments possibly quite biased on the subject.

I would question why a Police Officer is committing multiple offences in the first place and having them withdrawn (you of all should know better) and also that the "more than 6 you helped have fines withdrawn" were possibly close friends, or family making full use of your police status/knowledge or members of the Police force themselves.

As a civilian, I couldn't exactly walk into my local station, grab the Sarg and request he backs me up on this one by writing a letter to Civic Compliance for me....It's never going to happen... however if my Dad was Mr Snr Constable....I'd probably never have to pay an infringement again.

and I am aware that Civic Compliance is "supposed to be" completely independent and unbiased to either party involved.....I've just never heard, seen or experienced that happening....ever!

just sayin'
I too am not here for an argument, and this will be my last post with AHC. Nor will I attempt to assist other members. The fact you mention my employment says to me that it obviously isn't irrelevant to you, otherwise why raise it, or look to see on my profile. I personally couldn't care less what you do for a job.

I do apologise for trying to assist someone with a problem.

To ask why I commit multiple offences, these were over a 8 year period, as we in Victoria have wonderful things called time over distance cameras, where your speed is checked over 5 - 10 k distance, it is also easy to be 6 km/h over. Not every car or bike has cruise control. It has been well advertised in Victorian papers that the public can apply for a caution, so no it wasn't just family and close friends that I assisted. Just normal motorists like yourself, who complain to me about a ticket. In closing, just because you have never "Heard, seen or experienced that happening....ever" doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
