A BKing for daily rider?
#16
S.G....
I had two faired Busa's sat in the garage,
now I have a Naked Busa and a B-King,

One isn't better than the other, its which suits YOU.
I've done 2,000k weekend rides on them, unfaired, and
most weekend play with the GSXR1000/Firblade boys
at speeds im not going to say.
Found no need to hide behind tupperware, although I often
have to wait for those that do....
There really isnt that much in performance untill you start
doubling legal limits and more.
I ran a 10.33 on the Busa, 10.39 on the B-K, both stock.

B-King...not so common,
Busa...better fuel range,
B-King...crap for pillions,
Busa...underseat room for puncture kit etc,
B-King...Great for annoying sportsbikes on a naked bike,
Busa...waaaay more after market stuff,
B-King...suits old bones and bad backs,
Busa...I find easier to launch, might just be me,
B-King...better top gear grunt (if you believe the mag's)
Busa...Pipes look ugly but not B-King ugly !
B-King...Could be stuck with a lemon if suzuki drop them (not that i'd care)
Busa...Bigger following = easier to resell,
B-King...Longer and heavier but NEVER feels like it,
Busa...More choice of colours,
B-King...Great to clown about on,

I still love Busa's, I wouldn't mind another faired Busa in the future,
but this might not be the best place to get a balanced opinion.

Have a look here too to get the other side of the coin,

Every person has a different want & need.
Have 340 ks on my B-King from picking up last week.
Love it!
Looking for some after market fruit for it. Any one know of a good site?

Look its not about who can keep up with who but there is know way that a good rider on a B king is going to keep up with a good rider on a sports bike. If you can try a Bking dont just ride it for 10 or 20 ks on a nice day go and ride it for an hour on a crap day and then try a bike with a fairing in the same weather. Naked bikes are so nice to ride on good days but if its windy and raining well thats a different story. Dont take what we say as gospel go and try different bikes. What im saying is just what i prefer but its so crap when you go and spend 19,000 and you end up not happy.

I dont understand all the fuss about being hidden behind a fairing ?

I recently came back from 1770, did the first 300k's in the rain, next 100 or so
on the highway, then rather than head straight home went through
Malaney, Mt Mee for a play. Im no huge milage junkie, but a 1200k weekend play
on the B-K didnt seem very different to that on a Busa.
We have some longer run's planned for the new year,
Perhaps that will show a naked bikes down fall.

Bikes like a B-K offer quite a bit of protection
from the stupid wide tank, rad guards and clocks, the latest sportsbikes
i've ridden like GSXR's and CBRR's offer very little more, Busa's are no Goldwings!

For me personaly the 6" of missing screen is made up for my the more natural riding position.

Only my opinion, not fact.

The lack of wind protection is the only worry for me going for a naked bike. I'd like to ride a Busa with Heli bars installed but don't know of any store that has a Busa like that. I wouldn't want to be more agressively positioned than my Firestorm so if the Busa + heli's is still more of a lean it's a no go.

I agree with you Tony that the BK provides some good wind resistance as is. Putting around at 90 i didn't feel any wind, then again on a windy day it could be a different story. My wife doesn't like the idea of me getting a Busa because she thinks i'll turbo it LOL.

Well you can turbo a bKing as well.....but don't tell her that!! :)

I had a firestorm for a few years and I don't think that the Busa is any more or a lean or streach than it, but it has been a few years!

b-king= muscle bike
busa= sports tourer
two differnt rides/style of bike with one of the best motors ever built. It basically boils down to preference, comparing plastics/ride is just stupid considering the design of both bikes and what they where meant to achieve!!!!

I just had to make this decision between the Bking or my 10th busa
The busa won but the BK put up a great fight
I had several test rides 2 of which by myself over the mountains
It is an awesome machine fun as hell to ride & i'd still love to own it
I think the biggest problem is there to close in price & then you start weighing up all the other issues .
As a local around town, go to work up the local mountain you will have to fatest time BUt it wont match the busa high speed cruize modeRoll

After just doing my run to jindy 3900ks in 6 days at the speeds we did & loaded up & still fuel wasnt an issue i'm glad i got the new busa
The heli bars on a busa dont make it a BK tho
